The 8444 train

FUN FACTS:

The 8444 trains has been to 2 rail fairs. One was in Sacramento, California. The 8444 train went with another train called the Challenger. The 8444 also went to Utah to celebrate the creation of the Union Pacific railroad. The 8444 also runs for the Union Pacific railroad. This train is a steam train.

The 8444 used to be called the 844. When the diesel trains started to rule, the 844 was then called the 8444. So, a diesel train did not take over the 8444s number.

The 8444 was the last steam train made for the Union Pacific. It is also the sole surviving kind of its train on Union Pacific. This train is also very popular because the world does have a lot of its kind.

This train usually pulls passenger trains and attracts many people to see it. This train also pulls excursion trains around the country. Sometimes the 8444 pulls freight trains but needs another engine to do that.
